Gracious Holy Spirit, we thank You that we recognize the celebration of Pentecost, in our lives, and in the course of the Church. Help us to discern what is our duty and what is our service. The young man said to Jesus, "Master, all these have I observed from my youth." That is duty. Jesus answered, "Come, take up the cross, and follow me." That is service. May we be so filled with You that we do both happily. It has not even entered into our hearts yet all that You desire to accomplish though us. Prepare us for ministry that promotes the Kingdom of God. Search me and prepare me to receive the revelation of the deep things of God. Forgive me the times I have been superficial. Let not the things of the world overtake me and replace my desire to do Thy will and bidding. May I carefully weigh my words so that they are Your words, Your express will, Your revelation, Your grace and comfort extended to believers. It is written that we have the mind of Christ. May it please You to remove those thoughts that are opposed to Christ's glorification. Remind me that I am but a witness to His splendor and yet I am a co-laborer in the Kingdom which makes history and conquest. Appoint me over the things that enhance the Body of Christ. Fill me and grant me wisdom to do Thy bidding. May I not neglect my prayer life in pursuit of activity which is not Your calling for me. May the distribution of Thy Word be the foremost accomplishment I render, as You have revealed Your express will to me. Set aside my life that I might see the glory of God. May I devote more than this day, Pentecost, to desiring my consecration. May Your Name be blessed for ever and ever. You have filled me, blessed me, endowed me with grace and comfort and gifts that I have yet to thank You for. Open my eyes that I might see all good things from Your hand and not credit my own self. Glory! Amen
