Holy Spirit, well indeed You did bring forth the Holy One as a babe on this earth. I cannot fathom my reaction if I were Mary, yet she was given the ultimate joy and received the Word spoken over her. I cannot fathom my reaction if I were Joseph, yet He was obedient and loyal. May I be Your handmaiden and servant also in whatsoever You desire to use me as in the Kingdom.

We read of Simeon, interesting enough that he, "came by the Spirit, into the temple." Not only were you upon Him we read, but once again we see you transport--You direct our footsteps; and we recall, (Pro 3:6) "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Simeon was a devout man. May it please You to grow us in this manner also as we mature so that we may be directed by You.

It is said by Jesus, that no greater man had been born than John the Baptist, for he was not only blessed to announce the Lamb of God, but to see the Spirit of God descending upon Jesus. O, Blessed Holy Spirit, dare we ask that You do great and revelatory events in our lives?

We further read that there is a Baptism in the Holy Ghost, and in fire. I know what this means. I know the blessing and I know the fiery sufferings that accompany that. You drove Jesus into the desert for testing and trial times. We may expect the same. I pause to thank You that You rest upon me and lead me.

I ask You now, Holy Spirit, to increase my awareness of You as I go through this study and pathway to intimacy with You. Fill me with love, faith and courage to do Your bidding. Amen

May I be as willing as Mary was to say, "be it unto me according too thy word." Use me in any way that you see fit. May I listen always for your leading and directions. Give me wisdom to do the work you have for me to do. amen.
